Sushi!

We made sushi this saturday! Haha, never thought I'd ever do that..
The complete book of sushi came very in handy.
So after finding the best piece of raw salmon at the quay, and buying all the other ingredients we could start.

Makeing the sushi rice was actually the most complex and time consuming. After cooking it in a rice cooker together with some sea grass, it had to be cooled down with a fan at the same time as it was mixed with a mix of sake and sushi vinegar.

Time to put the rice and "filling" on the see weed and roll.

Then cut the roll into eight pieces. These are filled with cucumber.

Then cucumber and salmon:

Then salmon on a "ball" of rice.

Ah! Looks very nice!

And tastes very good!

By the way; to answer a question: The meaning of the expression "good thing the houses are hollow" is that it is good to be able to go into them when the weather is very bad...

Have a nice day everyone!

Hello! Sushi! What a crazy idea to make it yourself at home. But why not. I bet Li helped you out because it looked great! Going to help your father with the house again? "Whats he building in there?" T.Waits
You have got nothing to look forward to. Been working outside in the storm myself, and its shit. Hope we can get togheter for a beer when you put the hammer on the shelf!

Asbjørn

mmmmm beer......

Hei Oter! Ja det va knallgodt og :-)
Sake hjemma altså... kor lenge holde ei sånn flaska seg? Prøvd å drikka an varme? Godt det og :-D

Hey Asbjørn! Hehe, yeah, it was a two person job..
hehe, not building anything, just some corrective maintenance on the garage roof...
Mmm! Beeralicious! We must try to do something maybe saturday? Oter? How about you? And Elg!?
Yeah can imagine working outside is shit right now, but you have a warm suit yeah?
Later dudes!

Varm sake noen gang bedre enn kald.
Du får ha lykke te på konserten!

mmmmmmmmm....ouch! i got electricuted from licking the screen for them sushi...
have you tried it with sea bass? mmmm....i'm sadden to say that i live too far away from the sea for homemade sushi....booooh!

My friend and I made sushi recently also. It's fun and messy and oh so good!

Hey Kuntry! Haha, be careful!
Hmm.. I'm not sure what I've eaten in the resturant, but I've never made my self with any other fish than salmon :-)
Ahh.. poor you.. Yeah I've heard only to use saltwater fish...

Hey Marie! Hehe, nothings better than super sticky fingers :-D

you can make vegetarian sushi with avocado, tofu, cream cheese etc..(ask marie currie, she's a vegetarian punk!) :7D
you can use tuna (though you should think about where it's been caught...and I heard the bigger the fish, the older it had lived and the more mercury content it would have.) boooh-sometimes ignorance is bliss, no?
you can make it with cooked crab meat...cooked shrimp meat...white fish, abalone, shellfish, eel, etc...etc....
mmmmm! I'm sure kanyanon would know more. -i used to make 'em when i lived by the sea.
