Life

First thing I heard this morning was that a plane had gone down at the Stord Airport. Maybe colleagues on board.. But they weren't. It was workers on the way to The Ormen Lange Project with a pit stop at this airport.
Something had gone wrong when landing. 13 have are now safe. Three are missing.


Taekwon-do is cancelled this week. Got bored yesterday. Went to see the german movie "das Leben der Anderen" that was about this guy in the Stasi who was surveilling an composer in the DDR. Great movie.

Found out that I need to change something. So I decided to stop buying frozen pizza. That shit is so bad...

Sort of finished moving now. Still don't like it. But maybe I should try to look positive at things.

Godt å høre at du ikke var ombord i det flyet! Jeg tenkte umiddelbart på deg, for du har snakket om en eller annen høstfest på et hotell,så kanskje du satt på fly fra stavanger til molde? Bra du er i god behold!

De tre er jo funnet døde nå,håper ikke det er bekjente av deg.

Hei Marianne! Hadde heldigvis høstfest på sola... Va snakk om at det va aker kværner-ansatte på flyet, men har ikkje hørt noe mer om det.

Men me ska ha allmøte om ulykkå nå kl 1300... håpe det ikkje e pga at ein av våres va ombord...

Har kun flyttet opp i sjette etasje fra andre etasje.. så egentlig ikkje noen big deal....

Hmm.. good idea! I already have a photo of the Statfjord C oil rig, but that isn't very helpful. Maybe I can print out one of those on your page..? O:-)

u're welcome!...mebbe for some bizzare brilliance of the gods...a rich oil sheik would come visit u at ur cubicle....see a picture, and buyz it from you at a rediculous price....ermmm....mebbe you'd give me half?

Hmm.. the probablility of a oil sheik caring about rig safety and visiting us is about zero, but of course; you'll get 2/3 :-)

do some oil company ever try to bribe you or your colleague to "look the other way"?

At the moment I/we only perform work for one oil company, and they are state owned. And no they haven't, think they never will, but the problem is that THEY are in charge and can run over our recommandations even though we think it is crazy not to do what we recommend to do. Money will always try to push safety away... :-(
