F.A.R

Me and a colleague just had a discussion about something called fatal Accident Rate (F.A.R) which is how many fatalities per 100 million exposed hours.

As my colleague is offshore on the Snorre A rig right now it was natural to discuss the F.A.R value for traveling by Helicopter.

F.A.R values for normal transportation is:
Airplane: 56
Car: 25
Ship/Boat: 9.1
Train: 6.2

Therefore it was a bit alerting that travel by helicopter had a FAR value of 160...

Well well, could be worse...

Anyway; I had enough, I'm going home to watch a re-run of Seinfeld.

Good Night

Comments:
those airplane card thing you pocketed might help..heheheh. if you feel in your guts that it is not a fly day, play sick and go fly-fishing. (i'm sure everything will go smoothely and amazing!)

Hehe, yeah, well the don't have safety on board on the Helicopters in the north sea.... they only show a safety video befor we take off... those cheap bastards :-)
