Yawn...
I'm seriously tired... Two cups of coffee... half a liter of water... No work done yet... I stayed up late last night, had to see this film "Airplane!" before I got to bed. Bad idea. But funny movie though. One of the earliest films I remember seeing actually, so I had to see it again to see if it was as funny as I remembered it to be. Maybe not, but still funny.
Tonight I will go to sleep at 22.00. I'm not kidding.
OK, I have to stop complaining!!
Done.
Got this photo from the Snorre B oil rig. They set the new record for this fish called a Ling. They said something about 30 kg and a length of 175 cm.

They have too little work to do there! :-P But might have been in their spare time, and they do have a fishing club there.
Anyway, there is a food festival here in Stavanger now. Excellent if you like standing in a long que for a free food sample or pay exstremely much for a meal.

But it is nice to walk around and look, especially when the weather is so nice :-)

that's a mighty fine fish there! what did they use to catch it? we have seven feet long catfish out here, but i don't have the heart to kill and eat it...
i saw one being cleaned and it looked like a person's thigh.....
ok, enough detail! hahaha!

Hey Kuntry!
They have a reel attached to the platform railing and they had to use a 1.5 kg weigh in order to down to 300m depth.. don't know if the used lure or bait. The platforms operate as a giant coral reef with alot of fish. Mostly cause all the organic wast is trown over board...
Hey Kayanon!
Yeah, it is 4 times the biggest fish I've ever caught.. :-P
Yeah, it is very eatable, Ling is a sort of Cod fish if you know that one. Think the gave it to the chef who turned the 30 kg fish into 20 kilos of fillet :-)

so...how do you get chosen to be a chef in one of those? that'd be a neat job. have u been stuck in a storm out there. heard that being out in sea is one of the top dangerous jobs....fishermen, underwater welders etc....but it is very well paid! i'm saving up for a 40 foot sailboat so i can be a shushi eatting pirate. Arrrrr!
Hehe, Sushi eating pirate sounds like a nice 8-4-job :-)
Hmm.. think you have to have a very good reputation from working at land, then be willing to live out there for two weeks and to have four weeks at home doing what you want. Think it is a pretty good job yes.
Because of the hight safety requirements on Norwegian sector, the helicopter flight is said to be the dangerous time of the stay. But of course; if something really happens at the oil platform, you have almost nowhere to go, and that can sort of suck.
But with the high pay and the long spare time I guess it might be worth the risk.
(I only go sporadic, so I don't get the time off when I get back...)
