A Well Accomplished Offshore Trip
Then I'm back in good old Stavanger. Came home yesterday after a rather long trip, well, not more than six hours, but after sitting half of it in a survival suit and a one hour delay on the plane from Bergen to Stavanger, I was kind of tired..
First I want to say I love helicopters! Besides the fact that it is a one hour trip in a massage chair from hell, it is very relaxing. Take off, flight and landing is the same feeling; very soothing :-)
OK, setting my feet at the Statfjord C platform was very special, and what a view!
Here you can see the SFA and SFB, and further in the horizon you can see some English sector oil rigs.
This is the view from 4th floor in the office building (8th floor).
And this is me in the office. We always met in the inspection office in the scheduled coffee and sandwich brakes.
We worked 12 hours every day and had four meals from 0600 to 1900. Good thing I got away; I could have eaten my self to death!
My room was about 4.5 m^2, with a TV and free telephone as it was illegal to bring a cellphone.
Anyway, I have learned a lot and hope I can go back soon.

Hi, Ragge! Nice pictures! I especially enjoyed the clock in the last picture... Seems like a good job you've got, with work both offshore and onshore. And I agree, helicopters are fun!

Yeah, she was one of three ladies I saw the entire trip. And yeah non of the inspectors were female...
Anyways; I find the job nice, good, but then again very hard. Hope they don't fire me cause I learn too slow :-o Sometimes I feel everybody is saying "yeah, we have all been fresh one time...." abit too often..Probably just my mind :)
Time for some more irish coffee!

Travel helg for meg, Konsert med orkesteret i går som medførte at fredagkveld og lørdag formiddag måtte settas av te øvelser i Festiviteten. I dag e det konsert med koret og ja, nå e eg på jobb.
Nuvel.
Satse på fritid i neste uka.

Howie: Det blir nok desverre ikkje så ofta som mange av kollegaene ettersom eg e i det ein kalle resursgruppå. Eg ska etterhvert bli expert på alle tri platformane og trå inn der det trengs hjelp med å nå dead line. Og pga det blir det mindre tid for meg å dra offshore :(

Kameraet som ble brukt var et Nikon Coolpix 4500(http://produkt.akam.no/product.php?product_id=1872), og tror det er ugått fra markedet. Inspektørene ombord på platformen har brukt dette som dokumentasjonskamera og linsen var full av riper... ble alikevel god resultat, fornøyd med zoomen også :)
