My 5 o'clock in the morning list

My 5 o'clock in the morning list of music that matter the most these days:

1. Oasis, Don't believe the truth. This album was slaughtered by several journalists so I really hadn't that big expectations for it. But, this is some of best they have done in several years, and I can't stop listening to it.

2. Pretty girls make graves, the new romance. This album is excellent punk rock that really gets you going. I love it.

3. Dinosaur Jr., Bug. Ahh.. What can I say.. Excellent indie-rock.

4. PJ Harvey, 4 track demo. This album will give you chills down your back. Poly Jean can scream like no other, well, maybe like Patty Smith.

5. And you will know us by the trail of dead, Worlds Apart. Smooth rock that makes me happy :-P

6. Blonde Redhead, Misery Is A Butterfly. Great indy-rock, strange and different :)

I need to go out and get some fresh air. I could fall asleep any minute.

I'll finish this night shift post with some crazy art. It's called "the Saddam shark" and was made by David Cerny.

Comments:
Don't have any Oasis albums actually, I plan to buy "Definitely Maybe" and "Don't Believe the Truth".

Allmusic.com has praised their newest album as their best in years. Seems they got their energy back after som rather dull albums.

Also been listening to some PJ Harvey lately: "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea" and "To Bring You My Love". Enjoyed to first one (will probably buy it), while the latter was a bit to esoteric for my taste.

Do you recommend any other PJ Harvey albums, like 4-track demos? Which of the two above does it resemble the most?

Hogne

Hi! Yeah, those are both excellent :)

Allmusic.com is for some reason banned from the statoil network because of their ethic guidelines. Then again I can recoment metacritics: http://www.metacritics.com/music/, the mean of all critics :)

I personally love "the stories from the city, stories from the sea" album, think it better than the "to bring you my love" album. I will of course recomend the "4 track demo", but think it's best to buy the "the stories from the city, stories from the sea" album first(and of course "don't believe the truth") :D

Cheers!

Yeah, Hogne, just wanted to tip you about Bloc Party and their album "silent Alarm". Check it out, it's kuul! Was supposed to put it on my list last night, but forgot because of my dizzyness. Can remind you of Pretty Girls make graves only they have a female vocalist.
Cheers!
