Detaching the Swedes

Ok, when I went to buy some food at the store last evening I saw that Trondheim city had made the old Swedish-Norwegian flag as a flower decoration. Well, it's 100 years since the union brake up on Tuesday, but doesn't this decoration symbolize that this flag was a "good" flag (good union)?

I'm not a fanatic patriot, but it was just something that crossed my mind.
By the way, I think the decoration was excellent!

Nice flowers! In some way, Norway is like the little girl who always saved all the candy on Saturdays after all the other had eaten theirs.. Typical Scrooge. Always the richest, but definately not the coolest. But hey, rich works for me! (I'm really not sure WHERE in my twisted mind these thoughts come from!)

Hehe, you are absolutely right!

Why spend money on giving the elders a worthy end of life, when we can save every oil penny for future generations?

(not sure if we are talking about the same thing? :P)

Quote "M. Rausand": Future generations? Why should I care for future generations? What have they ever done for me?

Quote John Maynard Keynes: "In the long run, we're all dead..."

Well, the oil fund is actually very difficult to handle. Just aske the Dutch government. This won't be a lecture in economics, but it is very difficult to start spending it. And not too smart. I think the Rimi king Mr. Hagen is right, to call the oil fund to a pension fund for the Norwegian population.
I think a lot can be done for the elderly, but spending a lot of the oil fund won't help in the long run. The biggest lack in Norway is the lack of workers. Short: There's no point in investing in hospitals if there aren't people to work in them!
