A series of unsympathetic drawings..

Early this year an innocent little drawing led to a bitter struggle.

I was still waiting for an answer from Aker Kværner and was telling Karen Margrethe about it.

Then Thomas who sat next to me showed me this drawing he made called "anxious Ragnvald".

Me: What the hell is this?!
T: Hey! It's just a nice drawing of you... Waiting for an answer..
Me: It's not very nice is it? I look like a fucking criminal.
T: ..I think it's nice and it was meant well.

Me:(thinking) Ok, he might have meant it well... Then I'll make him a nice drawing as well..

T: Bloody hell! I look like a hedonistic retard!! I'll get you for this!

When he said that I called it: The end of orange.

Then Thomas got quite mad and drew this one:

I got mad cause my drawing was meant as a compliment. I then drew this one:

T didn't like it and took his revenge:

Seriously, this doesn't look like me at all!
Time for "coup de grace":

We both agreed that this had gone too far and both had lost.

Sand and Water

Look what I bought today! Nice isn't it? It's an IKEA stereo and TV bench...

I'll mount it tomorrow...

Was bored last saturday and found out that it would be nice to see if I could find the beach. In the end that was no problem.

A Well Accomplished Offshore Trip

Then I'm back in good old Stavanger. Came home yesterday after a rather long trip, well, not more than six hours, but after sitting half of it in a survival suit and a one hour delay on the plane from Bergen to Stavanger, I was kind of tired..

First I want to say I love helicopters! Besides the fact that it is a one hour trip in a massage chair from hell, it is very relaxing. Take off, flight and landing is the same feeling; very soothing :-)

OK, setting my feet at the Statfjord C platform was very special, and what a view!

Here you can see the SFA and SFB, and further in the horizon you can see some English sector oil rigs.

This is the view from 4th floor in the office building (8th floor).

And this is me in the office. We always met in the inspection office in the scheduled coffee and sandwich brakes.

We worked 12 hours every day and had four meals from 0600 to 1900. Good thing I got away; I could have eaten my self to death!

My room was about 4.5 m^2, with a TV and free telephone as it was illegal to bring a cellphone.

Anyway, I have learned a lot and hope I can go back soon.

Wish you all a good weekend!

Paint your head!

About time with a little update. Been really lazy lately when it comes to computering. Tired of having to lay in a corner in my bedroom to get a wireless connection...

The title is just a crazy inter-joke, so don't think too much about it...

Well. Last weekend I had a visit by Thomas! It was really cool. Finally I had some real sightseeing in this city. Also fun to get drunk at three o'clock watching soccer at a bar down town. Some photos further down.
Got my Heli-flight offshore confirmed yesterday. Yey! That means I'll be going to Statfjord C on monday and going home on friday. Well, if all goes to according to the plan that is. Have been through so much info about heli-crashes and gas and oil leaks that im starting to wonder. Anyway, they have a tax-free shop at the platform and also a fishing club ++ so it will be fun.
I was supposed to go out tonight, but starting to think it might not gonna happen. Don't wanna go alone. But then again, why not. Got a beer here with me and a whole bottle of wiskey, so there might some irish coffee coming up. Care to join?

Just bought two cd's: Uhu her; Poly Jean and Trigger, Maximo Park. Nice!

Photo break!! :-D

Thomas at Strømsteinen, standing under the bridge and next to Badedammen.

Thomas and the old town fire tower.

Me on the brink to Stavanger, trying to warm my frozen fingers.

Thomas playing in the snow. Tring to hit me with a snowball. Test your self: Find the snowball! How did you do? 1 sec: Good!, 2-5 sec: Hmm.. you definately need more practice, 5-10 sec: First time you've looked for a snowball?

Thomas outside the Oil museum. It costed 80 kr so we skipped it. Just as fun outside!

The mandatory pointing picture. Me pointing at the bridge (my work place is under it)

Street in stavanger, on our way to the soccer game.

Shopping for food and beer.

Me and Thomas in the que for paying. PS: I would not go taking photos here if I was sober...

Heh... to make it short; Much fun. Went to the city and went to a place called Gnu.

All good days must come to an end. Hihi, sorry thomas; this was a must show photo....

Ok, back to the real life. Half way through the Maximo Park album. Nice....

Was supposed to get drunk together with my naighbor tonight, he said something about drinking me under the table. Anyway, he's misteriously gone.

This is just great. Nobody I know in Stavanger can go out this weekend... haven't got enough money to go to Haugesund. Had also thought of going to Bergen if my heliflight didn't get booked after 0800 on monday. Then I could have charged the hole trip on my new AMEX, but must attend work on monday as the flight is at 17.

OK want to start complaining about several things now, but I made this list to make me feel like everything is good:

1. I have monthly income(=food)
2. I have music
3. I have friends
4. I have a shelter
5. I live in a country with no Bird Flu
6. I have five fingers and five toes
7. I have no scary diseases that I know of
8.
9. I'm not wanted by the police
10 I have a big bottle of Jameson waiting in the window

..hmm.. the one thing missing is time off. Well, can't have all at once.

Bloody hell this is a long post! Time to end it quick.

Two things

Got my offshore gear today. Earlier that day I was told to get in touch with the head janitor in order to collect it.

Janitor: Do you need a work suit or do you get one on the rig?
Me: Yeah, need one.

Get everything and walk up;

Me: Hmm.. he asked if I would get the suit at the rig, I said no.
Jørn: Oh yeah, good thing you said that. Now you can take your new suit and use it at home. We get our suits at the rig.
Me: Very well.....

My new "relax around the house" suit:

Got a letter in the mail today, actually made me very happy:)
Reunion! :-D Will be fun:

Good night!

Purely Shocking

The results from my scientific survey has reveled that people watch TV on sundays.

Trip to Stavanger:

My father in the snow outside our house:

It suddenly starts to snow as hell as I roll out on the main road:
(I'm not dangerous in the traffic, my co-driver is taking the photo)

I have at this point advanced about 300 meters in this ticket que..:
(you can see it continues in the photo middle right of the car infront of me)

Wohoo! The ferry lady in the middle was in a good mood this time, she let me go with this one:

Home, but cold:

Vacation Ques..

When all the people are returning from their winter holyday, one of three ferrys gets technical problems -.-

First time I've been in a que of more than three for just to by the ferry ticket! Waited half an hour before entering the ferry que... row number 4...! Will post some photos tomorrow.

Well, back in STV. Will try to get up at six tomorrow, but most likely not. Need to find some things to do after work. Hmm.. will maybe join some sport activities tomorrow, need to move!

Good night!

Sunday in Haugesund

Was at the cinema yesterday and saw "walk the line". Good movie. Learned many new facts about the man in black. Went to the quay afterwards with Thomas, KM, Håvard, Anna and Tommy for some beers. We decided to go to Lothes. First time I've been there and it was a very nice place although I almost died walking there. It was exstremely cold and my blazer wasn't actually made for the norwegian winter...

Woke up very early today... 08.30.. drank two cups of coffee and surfed IMDB. Then, out of boredom, I made this poll. Please vote! And atleast two at the same so there will be a result :-P

Have your say!
What do you usually do on a sunday?
walk around outside for the sake of my health
Drink beer
Sit in the sofa looking at a painting/poster on the wall
Surf the net
Watch TV
Do not get out of bed
Plead the officers to let you out
Wondering if it is a good idea to check the sendt folder on my cellphone
Drink coffee
Try to find home
Invite people over for cake and tea
Clean the house
wash clothes
play singstar on ps2
Eat breakfast, dinner and supper at McDonalds\'

day five

Helicopter theory, Evacuation theory, learning to use the air lung on the new survival suits. And then the highlight of the course; the helicopter evacuation under water. Four times with the air lung and two times without. Two times with the window out and two times where we had to get the window out under water. Three times with roll over(upside down) and three times without roll over. It was quite stressfull and gave a huge adrenalin kick! Nice.

Ended the day with some evaluation and then we were handed the diploma and certificate.

Drove to Haugesund this afternoon. Frickn' cold here too....

Tired as hell. Nighty night!

Day four

Started the day with heart and lung rescue theory, then we had fire theory.

After lunch my group started with a fire exercise where we learned how to use foam, CO2 and powder exstinguishers. Our targets were all alcohol fires, but we also got demonstrated the "water in burning fat"-inferno. That was crazy! :-|

Then there was this laburint in pitch dark. First when we didn't know our way around. That was chaos... The poor swede actually got totally lost as he came away from the group and the instructor turned on the lights in the end. Then a second time when we had a look around whith the lights on and we chose a leader; twice as quick.

Last post was the first aid post. We were now devided in groups of four. The first incident was a lady who had a serious burn in the face and hands and she was screeming and was hysterical, before fainting. It was actually quite scary... but we "saved" her. The second girl had cut her wrist and fainted quite quickly. Did not go quite as good this time, but she thought she might have survied. The post ended with heart and lung rescue on the doll, whats her name..., Anne?

Day Three

The four first hours we had first aid and hypothermia aid. We had the ABC-aid today and will have the heart and lung rescue tomorrow.

Then after lunch we started with boarding a conventional life boat. Then we went to the life boat drop. Wow, that was psycho! We all sat in the boat as the captain started to pump the hydraulic lock mechanism, and then it suddently let go and slid down the rails. Then suddenly a free fall, and I could feel my body getting weight less. Then the boat hit the surfase, goes under and then come up again and float away 150 meters. The impact was supposed to generate 4G.

Then we had a to try the evacuation sock twice.

Then a rain and storm simulation where the whole team had to get into a life raft.

Today it was 1 degree in the water. I want one of those survival suits!

Day Two

Dry day. Did alot of Safe Job Analysis and Incident Raports. Was on a group with a swede, a guy from cameroon and a girl from Kristiansund. When atendence was checked, our teacher for the day asked the swede if he came from sweden and if it was something he wanted to talk about.. cruel, funny, but don't think he understood.
Nothing more worth mentioning.
