Modern Life is Rubbish

Well, tomorrow evening I will leave for the our cabin in Kongsberg. No internet, well, we have a phone, but do we have a modem cable? So last update for a long time. I think. Not that it has been much lately.

I'm now in oslo. Celebrated my sisters birthday tonight. I had a good time. Started drinking after all had gone as I was supposed to drive my grandmother home. My uncle convinsed that they could drive her home as they were leaving. Well down in my fourth glass of sherry. Very nice. Actually, thought I hated sherry. Anyway, was going to bed when I thought this was my last chance to update my blog... Hope you enjoy these photos from my trip over the mountain from haugesund to Oslo on saturday.

Drove down to Stavanger, met in the reception at ten to twelve. Was met by the MMO manager who took me up to 9th floor where we met the last two who were attending the interview. So there I sat. Short side seat. HR leader at my left, MMOL and Head of MMO-personell on my right.

Two hours went by.

I must say it was a very special experience. And I actually think it went quite good. Well, that means I'm pleased even though I don't get the offer. And the whole interrigation was in a way more like a two hour conversation. Talking much about my head of office in the university table tennis club and my job at the gass processing plant.

Linda: "This job will involve going offshore. That requires a good helth. Do you consider your health good?" Me:"Yeah yeah, I feel very healthy, haven't had a medical test since 1998 though..." (Tip: don't say that last part of the sentence)

Well, think I might still be in the game. They asked if I could give them two more references and after following me down and out of the security zone, the MMO manager took the time to find a second info magazine about his appartment.

After getting home that evening I checked my site statistics at my homepage:

From now on I will be careful what I do and write on the WWW. They will find it. :-D

Been called in to my first real job interview! Yaay! The first one ever I had at a gas station down town. I didn't get that one. The interviewer was a former student of my father, don't know if that was good or bad :-p And, that was 7 years ago...

Ok, haven't gotten the job yet, so I'll just say to my self that this is a very good opportunity to get some interview practice.

Yeah, one of the big projects around our house: deforesting. Getting some light and air on the house wall again..

Well, doesen't happen much these days. Got a hair cut yesterday. Think I lost half a kilo doing it. Real nice actually, but when I took a walk outside today, the wind went straight through and made my head really cold :-0

Here's a tip for you who look for something to do on your computer. Downloaded google earth yeasterday. Hours of fun! :-p

Let's start with zooming in on scandinavia and some of britain.


Then lets zoom further down until we see haugesund and karmøy and where I live.


Oh, and there is the plant I've worked on the last four summers! "My" production train is almost exactly in the middel.



Anyway, thought this program was really cool.
