DSH-Prüfung
Well well well..
What to do now?
Had the test today, didn't go very well, even though it went better than expected. Failure is the option.
Hmm.. This study plan of mine didn't go nearly as I planned at all! Not sure what I'm going to do. Think I might be here for a month and take the language course and live the good life.
Time will show

Looks like a down hill from here..
I would like to shout out something very bad right now, but I can't think of anything bad enough to say.
I was told two weeks ago that the German language test I had to take in order to study at the university could be taken twice. That means that I can fail once and then take the same test half a year later. But today the german head of registration said that if I failed tomorrow that would mean the end of my time as a student at the german university. :-/
Shit!
Feel so down right now. Yeah, I love Berlin and everything, but now I just want to give up and go home and.. yeah..
My grammar knowledge that I had at high school is today way gone and I need some time to get it up and running again.
I will try to pass to morrow, but I somehow already know that I will fail. The results will come approximately 20 of september. And in the mean time I got to still live in the hostel; can't rent an appartment if I don't know if I'm going to stay or not.
Don't panic! ---Douglas Adams---

Berlin
Berlin at last! Landed at Schönefeld airport yesteday evening. The first thing I meet is a wall of blue lights. There was a bomb alarm and all underground and busses were cancelled. After a while I got together wiht a girl from Estland, a girl from Netherland and a guy from Italy, and we split a cab to the city center.
I currently living in a hostel in Mitte and there I'm shearing a six-bed room with one guy from Chile that reads music notes all day and night, and has this terrible cough; I'm afraid he might die from it...
Having troubles getting immatriculated at the university, but I'll try again tomorrow.
Hope you are all well!
Cheers!

Change of plans, maybe
I will probably be able to take this language test at the 24th of September and then take a language course from the 1th of September with a pre test at the 25th of August and then maybe get the 15'000 NOK scholarship I do not deserve.
I'll call the Hartnackschule now and order the test and language course. Hmm.. Maybe I'll only be in Norway for two more days.
Got these Air plane photo from a guy, and I copied them with my camera. Click to enlarge!

I live in the house with the garage surounded by trees, third square from the bottom, second from the right. That is on the close up below.

Got a plan
Well, then I've finished my contract at Statoil and I stand here with nothing to do.
Anders, Lene, Hanna, Karianne joined me at the celebration last night down town. It was very nice.
With me from work I manage to get my self a bag of souvenirs:

This next week I'll study like hell to be able to pass the language test the Germans want me to take before I'll be admitted to the university.
I not sure I'll blog much from now on. Priorities you know..
Leave me a comment on anything, I'll appreciate it :)
Cheers!

A trip down south
I got in.
Die Freie Universitat Berlin, here I come!

It is actually kind of scary..
Got a letter that said: "Meet for language test the 31th of august". Got to start learning some more than I already can.
They needed a photo copy of the same test within the 30th of August.
Something tells me this is impossible.

Last shift period
Argh.. didn't get any sleep last night. Well, maybe two hours. Woke up with my eyes not able to open. Fumbled my self up stairs. Sat down with my head on the table for five minutes. Made coffee. Made two slices of bread. Watched the wall for 10 minutes while consuming it. Running late. Ran outside to my car. Pick up Jarle. Pick up Ole. Stuggle to stay awake. Arrive at work. Drank two cups of coffee. Logged the production train. Coffee again. Food. Computer. Blog.
This is the first of my four last shifts. It will be nice to get some vacation. I'm starting to get fed up.
Here I'm dancing, obviously because I'm happy I'll soon be finished.

The volume of time
When I don't have a title to put on my post I seem to make up this stupid over-kill title that almost don't give any meaning at all. And OK, it has something to do with the fact that I had no clue what day it was today except that the weekend had passed. Ok, now I know it is Tuesday. This was my weekend:
Friday: Came home from work at 23.30. Heard rumors about a party, but chose not to go. 95 % of all parties where you show up sober and tired half an hour before everybody runs down to the city usually turns out too boring and to expensive trying to cacth up with your drunk friends. Went to bed.
Saturday: Misses the Jazz parade that I inteded to attend to. Drove to the city to buy a bottle of whine to my sister. Got stopped in a police control, by a know-it-all-police-officer: (first time by the way)
I drive with 85 km/h in the 80-zone when the police officer jumps out in front of me 50 m ahead. I manage to lock my right front wheel before I turn right into a stop lane.
Police officer: Take it easy! Take it easy! You drive too fast! You have to slow down man!
Me: Ehh.. I wasn't driving that fast.. I held the speed limit.
P.o.: Oh no, I could see you were driving at a way to high speed. If we've had a lacer out it would have been VERY expensive for you. Give me you license and registration card.
Me: Here... But I wasn't driving too fast! I held maximum 85! It is a 80-zone isn't it??
P.o.: Admit it. I saw you had a way too hight speed. I could see that you held a much higher speed than the cars in front of you.
Me: But that is because they were driving in 70 km/h and I had just entered this road..
P.o.: Just admit it. I could have been very expensive for you.
Me: But..!
P.o.: Do your self a favor; consider your self lucky and admit it and get out of the stop line. And have a good day!
Me: Ehh.. OK! Thanks, god day to you too!
The minutes after this weird conversation I could not stop thinking how incredible stupid it was of me to try to discuss this with the p.o.
I will not do that again.
Anyways I bought the cheapest half bottle of whisky I could find and made a whole thermos of Irish Coffee for the BBQ-party later that night.
The party was excellent. Much happened, more than I can write about.
Sunday: Tired. Saw hitchhikers guide to the universe. Liked it, event though it was very different from the book. Played pro evolution soccer until 0200.
Monday: Had Thomas and Erik over for coffee at 11 o'clock. Went to work. Came home and saw "the kingdom" by Lars Von Trier. Excellent!!!
Today: Saw "anger management" with Sandler and Nicholsson. Good enough :) Went to work.
Got to go out and open some valves. Cheers!

A Motive And A Festival
Hehe, got this photo from a photographer who was around at the factory to take photos for a union magazine. I'm having a so called "Open Safety Conversation" and at that point I'm trying the best I can to convince my shift-leader that the work I've been given is safe and not "over my head" and that me and the other summer vicar are taken good care of by the other operators

Some of my colleagues said that they wouldn't use this photo because I wore shaded safety glasses. That would give some sort of wrong message to the readers of the magazine. Beats me why.. It might look a bit to bad and scary. I don't blame them, I look like a idiot :-D
At the moment I write there is a festival in town called "sildajazz" or something like "herring jazz festival". For a few people this is a Jazz festival, but for the majority it is the time of the year were it is "OK" to stumble around drunk at the city quay. I've been working three of the four days the festival has been going on, so there is just to morrow left if I decide to join the crowd. I will go to a BBQ/birthdayparty to morrow, but whether the party want to stay at this place down town all night or if they want to go down to the quay later tomorrow night I don't know. Either way I think it will be great!

Engraved in Plexiglas
Sorry, just had to post it... :-P
Got it in the mailbox this morning from my university.

The Beach and the Roof
Yep, yesterday Lene and I went to the beach to get some sun and some swimming. It was quite nice. The water held a temperature of 14 degrees and I thought it was abit cold. After 15 minutes I had to get up on dry land again. Although it was quite windy it was a ok air temperature as well. It all lasted four hours until 17.30. On the photo you can see Alf who came around 1630 and Lene.

Both before and after the trip to the beach I was helping my father with some maintenance on a roof. Here you can see my sister and my father. It was all a hazardous experience..

Photo(s)
Here is a photo of the folks that traveled with to the Festival. You can see our tent an how it looks out inside. The inner tents are put to the ground or partly to the ground in the day time to prevent the water coming down through the roof and down into the inner tent.
From left -> Right: Me, Tommy, Thomas and Asbjørn.

I had only time to upload one photo from the trip before I went to work today..

Mood: Sick of computers
I have red the Norwegian internet newspapers approximately 15 times each to night. They hadn't been updated once the last 10. Got this cruel animation from my sister some days ago, a good illustration of how I feel right now :-P
(click to have a look..)

One hour twenty minutes left, then I can go home to sleep.
Cheers!

Forgetting and sleeping
Finally got some life signs from my mates who I left behind at the festival, they had reached the ferry home. And to all luck the had found my sandals and my trousers :-P that I somehow managed to put away a place I couldn't find it again. But that is the downside by trying to pack your backpack at 0215 in the night, drunk, in pitch darkness and in a hell of a hurry to catch the last shuttle bus to Bergen. And yeah, they remembered to bring my rain cloths as well. Thanks!
Yesterday, or lets say last night, I had serious problems staying awake at work. Tried to get as many walks outside as I possible could. 10 degrees, 4 m/s wind and light rain can keep anyone awake.
Anyway, I was looking very much forward to my long lasting sleep to come. But did it? No.. Went to bed at 0745, woke up at 1030. Was awake to 1100 and slept to 1230. Got up at 1330. I was a mess! Why can't it be as simple as "I'm tired, I'll sleep till I'm not". Had ear plugs and everything (Everything means a bed), nothing disturbed me! I'm fed up of being tired all the time, at home and at work. Only two more weeks left of this summer job.

The aftermath from a three day festival
Aiaiai, I'm so tired it hurts :-P
I never learn, but it is not the best idea to go to a music festival for three days before you start your 12 hour night shifts..
Anyway it was an excellent event; excellent music, excellent people, excellent place and excellent weather (maybe not the weather when I think about it, but one learn to adjust..)
Lost Weekend
Will try to post some more photos soon.
